ECOVADIS - Platinum 2026!
EcoVadis Platinum: A Milestone for KLINGER Schöneberg.
With a score of 87 out of 100 and a ranking in the 99th percentile, we are now among the top 1% of companies assessed by EcoVadis worldwide. Compared to previous years, we have significantly improved, successfully advancing from Gold with 77 points to Platinum.
Our Commitment: Responsibility Meets Business Success
This distinction reflects a clear ambition: to combine business success with responsible conduct. Sustainability, integrity, human rights, and responsible sourcing are not peripheral topics for us - they are fundamental components of future-oriented corporate governance. The current EcoVadis assessment demonstrates that we have consistently advanced this ambition over recent months, further professionalizing our approach and embedding it more firmly within our organization.
This progress is particularly evident in our improved scores in the following areas:
- Ethics: from 74 to 90 points
- Labor & Human Rights: from 75 to 86 points
- Sustainable Procurement: from 74 to 81 points
- Environment: from 83 to 88 points
Advancements in Sustainability Management
Our progression to Platinum is based on clear improvements in our sustainability management. In 2026, policies across key areas - particularly environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement - were further formalized. Clearer responsibilities, structured review and update mechanisms, and stronger organizational integration have significantly increased the robustness of our processes. As a result, the maturity of our ESG governance has improved substantially.
Strengthened Evidence and Robust Measures
A key driver of our improvement was significantly enhanced documentation and evidence of our actions. Especially in the areas of ethics and labor and human rights, measures were not only expanded but also documented in a more substantial and verifiable manner. These include, among others:
- documented corruption risk assessments
- information security risk assessnents
- structured approval processes for sensitive transactions
- additional measures to prevent discrimination and promote inclusion
- strengthened internal control mechanisms
Expansion of Sustainability Reporting
Another major step was the expansion of our sustainability reporting. EcoVadis explicitly highlights in 2026:
- reporting in alignment with the VSME base and advanced modules
- the implementation of a comprehensive materiality analysis
- a significantly more detailed and structured reporting approach
This marks a clear evolution in the maturity of our reporting - from standardized KPI disclosures to a more structured, materiality-driven, and methodologically sound sustainability report.
Reinforced by Certifications
Additional robust evidence through certifications further supported our rating. In particular, in the areas of environment, ethics, and sustainable procurement, we were able to provide further proof points that strengthened our overall assessment.
A Holistic Approach as the Key to Success
Achieving Platinum was not driven by environmental performance alone. A decisive factor was the significant professionalization in the areas of ethics, labor and human rights, and sustainable procurement. Overall, the current scorecard clearly shows that both the maturity of our management system and the quality of our supporting evidence have improved significantly.
Mindset, Responsibility, and the Road Ahead
Platinum is not achieved through a single project, but through mindset, discipline, and the consistent integration of responsibility into processes and decision-making.
"At the same time, we do not see this recognition as an endpoint, but as a commitment. The foundation for this development was laid by our former Managing Director, Manfred Goßmann. Building on this, we will continue on this path with the same level of determination, further advancing sustainability, compliance, and responsible corporate governance at KLINGER Schöneberg."
Marcel Gossmann, Managing Director
