EcoVadis Platinum Status 2026
EcoVadis Platinum is a significant milestone for KLINGER Schöneberg!
With 87 out of 100 points and a ranking in the 99th percentile, we are now among the top 1% of companies assessed by EcoVadis worldwide. Compared to previous years, we have significantly improved, moving from Gold with 77 points to Platinum.
This distinction reflects a clear commitment: we aim to combine business success with responsible conduct. Sustainability, integrity, human rights, and responsible sourcing are not peripheral topics for us, but essential components of future-oriented corporate governance. The current EcoVadis rating demonstrates that in recent months we have consistently advanced this ambition, further professionalized our approach, and embedded it more firmly within our organizational structures. This is particularly evident in the improved results in the areas of ethics (from 74 to 90 points), labor and human rights (from 75 to 86 points), sustainable procurement (from 74 to 81 points), and environment (from 83 to 88 points).
The step to Platinum is based on clear progress in our sustainability management. In 2026, policies across several areas—particularly environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement—were significantly further formalized, supported by clearer responsibilities, and more robustly anchored within the organization through formal review and revision mechanisms. As a result, the maturity of our ESG governance has increased substantially.
Another key factor behind this improvement was the significantly strengthened documentation of our measures. Especially in the areas of ethics as well as labor and human rights, initiatives were not only further developed but also documented in a more substantial and robust manner. This includes, among other things, evidenced corruption risk assessments, information security risk assessments, approval processes for sensitive transactions, as well as additional measures for the prevention of discrimination, the promotion of inclusion, and the strengthening of internal control mechanisms.
Equally important was the expansion of our sustainability reporting. In 2026, EcoVadis explicitly highlights our reporting in line with the VSME core and add-on modules, our materiality analysis, and the overall significantly more comprehensive reporting. This demonstrates how we have further advanced the maturity of our reporting—from more standardized KPI disclosures to a more structured, materiality-driven, and methodologically robust approach to sustainability reporting.
In addition, we provided further solid evidence in the area of certifications. In the fields of environment, ethics, and sustainable procurement, this enabled us to generate additional proof points that further strengthened our rating.
Platinum was not achieved solely through progress in the environmental area. The decisive factor was, above all, the significant professionalization in ethics, labor and human rights, and sustainable procurement. Overall, the current scorecard shows that both the overall maturity of our management system and the quality of our supporting documentation have increased noticeably.
Platinum is not achieved through a single project, but through mindset, discipline, and the willingness to consistently integrate responsibility into processes and decisions.
At the same time, we do not view this distinction as an endpoint, but as an obligation. The foundation for this development was laid by our former Managing Director, Manfred Goßmann. Building on this, we will continue along the chosen path with the same level of consistency, further advancing sustainability, compliance, and responsible corporate governance at KLINGER Schöneberg.
We would also like to extend our special thanks to DFGE for their trusted and professional support along this journey. In particular, we would like to highlight Mr. Böhmer, whose strong commitment and expertise have been instrumental in supporting us.
